How to Create New Items

The Add New Item page is where you create and configure new products or rental items for your store.
This page includes all settings related to pricing, stock, images, timing rules, SEO, variations, and internal notes.

Every field is explained below.

  1. Basic Details

Title

Enter the name of your item.
This appears on your storefront and product pages.

Example:
“BMW 5 Series”
“Wedding Chair Set”
“Excavator Hire”

Show on Store

Toggle this ON to make the item visible to customers.
Turn OFF to hide the item (useful for drafts or temporarily unavailable items).

On Sale Badge

Enable this if you want a “Sale” label to appear on the item card.
Useful when you are offering discounts or promotional pricing.

Description

A detailed description of your item or service.
This appears on the item page and is important for both customers and SEO.

  1. Images

Featured Image

Upload the main image displayed on:

  • item cards
  • product pages
  • search results

This is the primary visual representation.

More Images

Upload additional photos to show more angles or details.

Accepts multiple uploads.

  1. Stock & Order Limits

Stock Quantity

The total number of units available for hire or purchase.

Example:
1 (for a car)
40 (for chairs)

Min Per Order

The minimum number a customer must book.

Options:

  • Flexible (no minimum)
  • A set number

Max Per Order

The maximum number a customer can book in one order.

Options:

  • Flexible
  • A fixed limit

Useful when stock is limited.

  1. Categories & Item Type

Category

Choose the category this item belongs to.

You can manage or create categories using Manage categories.

Examples:

  • Cars
  • Tools
  • Furniture
  • Events

Item Type

Select the type of item:

  • For Rent – rental or hire items
  • For Sale – regular purchase items
  • Service – bookable services

This affects how bookings behave.

  1. Buffer Time (Before & After)

Buffer Time Before

Extra time added before the booking starts.
Used for preparation, cleaning, or setup.

Enter Days / Hours / Minutes.

Buffer Time After

Additional time added after the booking ends.
Used for packing, returning, cleaning, or resetting.

  1. Pricing Options

There are two pricing modes:

  1. Simple Pricing

A single fixed price per item.

Example:

  • £10 per item
  • £50 per day
  • £5 per chair

Enter the price in the Price for Quantity ($) field.

  1. Custom Rules (Advanced Pricing)

Turn this on to create pricing rules that vary by:

  • time
  • duration
  • day
  • quantity

For example:

  • £10 per hour
  • £50 per day
  • £250 per week
  • £5 discount after 3 days

You can add multiple pricing rules using the “Add Rule” button.

Variation with Duration

This allows pricing based on booking length.

Fields include:

  • Minimum Duration
  • Maximum Duration
  • Amount
  • Type (£, %, etc.)

Useful when:

  • Longer bookings have discounted rates
  • Short rentals cost more
  • Pricing should scale automatically
  1. Test Your Pricing

This is a tool to test your pricing rules.

Enter:

  • Duration (Days/Hours/Minutes)
  • Quantity

Then click Calculate.

The system will show the price based on your rules.
This is for testing only and does not affect customer charges.

  1. Product Variations

Click Add New to create item variations.

Examples:

  • Size (Small / Medium / Large)
  • Colour
  • Fuel Package
  • Add-ons (GPS, Insurance)

Variations allow customers to choose different options within the same item.

  1. Internal Information

Notes

Private notes only visible to your internal team.

Example uses:

  • Maintenance logs
  • Internal codes
  • Special handling instructions

Item Code(s)

Add SKU or internal item codes.
Useful for:

  • tracking
  • inventory
  • barcode scanning

Press Enter or Comma to add multiple codes.

You can also toggle Take Barcode Scanner Input to scan and auto-fill codes.

  1. SEO Settings

SEO Title

This is the page title used for search engines.
Helps improve Google search visibility.

URL Slug

The link for this item page, e.g.:

yourstore.com/items/bmw-5-series

Automatically generated but can be customised.

  1. 11. Extras (Optional)

The Extras section allows you to add optional paid add-ons to an item. Customers can select these during booking to increase the value of their order.

Name

Enter the name of the extra, e.g.:

  • Insurance
  • GPS
  • Delivery
  • Cleaning Fee

Price

Enter the fixed price for this extra.
This amount is added to the order when selected.

Add

Click Add to save the extra.
You can add as many extras as you need.

How Extras Work

  • Extras appear on the item’s booking page.
  • Customers can tick/select them as optional add-ons.
  • The total price updates automatically.
